Everyone that plans on going should do some prep hikes. So far Tyler has planed two practice hikes, one July 3-4 and one August 7-8. Just get a hold of Tyler if you are interested in going on any of these hikes. His phone number is (503)630-4934 and email is tylerrisenmay@cascadeacces
I also posted some information on Facebook. To access the link just click on the "Aneroid Lake Camp Out" above or go to the Cycling Psychos Facebook page.

Mt. Tabor Bike Club
Troy Boliger is from the Mt. Tabor Ward and he is organizing a group of bikers to do regular practice rides every Thursday and some Saturdays. He plans on meeting Thursdays at 6:30 pm and Saturdays in the morning (depending on the sun). The Thursday rides are usually 10-30 miles, depending on daylight, and the Saturday ones are 35-70 miles. The rides will be within the SE Portland, Clackamas Area. He has also recommended some other long distance rides to help prepare for the Bike to the Beach Trip:
Reach The Beach
Saturday May 16, 2009. This would be a great ride in preparation for the Seattle to Portland. This ride is to support American Lung Assoiciation of Oregon. There are 4 distances to choose from: Grand Ronde Road (26 miles), Amity (55 miles), Salem (77 miles) or Portland (100 mile).
You can go to http://rtb.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=294027 to register.
The cost is $25 plus each rider is asked to raise another $50 in donations for the cause, or pay it yourself.
Seattle to Portland
Saturday and Sunday July 11-12, 2009. Some people have expressed an interest in riding Friday and Saturday instead. I have contacted the race director and this is acceptable. This is 200 miles in 2 days.
You can register at http://www.cascade.org/EandR/stp/index.cfm. A ride guide is attached. The fee is $95. When you register you can authorize Troy Bolinger to pick up your packet. He will be picking up all of the packets at once on June 27th then meet with those going to discuss the details.
Please leave a comment below let me know if you know of any other rides you think we should do as a group. I will try to post any new information as soon as I get it but if you want to be part of the email group or ask Troy when and where he is meeting for the rides during a given week just send him an email (troy@troybolinger.com).

T-Shirts
It's that time of year again to start thinking about the design for the Cycling Psychos t-shirt and I think it'll either be gray or white. This year will be the tenth annual ride and I want to do something special. One crazy thought was to do white shirts but have us all meet a week before and tie dye them. I'm still trying to think of ideas for the drawing too.

Welcome to the Crazy World of the Cycling Psychos
To celebrate the tenth annual Cycling Psychos Bike to the Beach trip from Forest Grove, Oregon to Cape Lookout, Oregon, I have created this site to help all those interested. This site will not only contain current bike ride information but also pictures and news from years past. Feel free to offer any suggestions on how to make this site more effective.
