The Elevation of the Bike to the Beach Ride

This might interest some people. These are two elevation maps that Colleen Magleby created of the Cycling Psychos ride. If you want to see more detail on either of them just click the graph and a new tab should open up. Then you can click it again to zoom in to see more detail.

2010 Pictures

Way to go everyone!!! This year was a great ride even though we had one injury and a couple flat tires. I will try to get everyone's pictures up as fast as I get them. To look at them just use the links on the left hand side or click on the picture in the slide show that you want to see. You can also click on the "2010 Pictures" above to see my album of all the pictures I get.

I am also hoping that I can compile all the pictures from everyone onto a CD and give all the families that were involved this year a copy.

I don't know how long Colleen Magleby will take to create the books for this year but it shouldn't be too long before she will personally give them to all those who paid for them. Also once I get the book I will but it online and create a link on the left hand side on this page that says "2010 Book," similar to the links to the books for previous years.

If you have pictures that you know I don't have or you don't see your pictures here, please let me know so I can get them on here for everyone to see.

Thank you again for everyone that helped out this year.

15 Bikers

Two new bikers are going to join our group this year making the final count 15 bikers. The Evensens' grandparents have decided to join the fun. They will be the oldest members ever to bike to the beach as a Cycling Psycho. This will make the gap in age from the youngest to the oldest Psycho the biggest we've ever had.

Practice Rides

Hello you Psychos!!!

Well, July 16th is not far away so here is a rough idea of when we can practice biking together. Remember you don't need to bike with the group to prepare. Make your own time if needed or wanted. Everyone that rides to the beach with us should be able to ride to Crown Point and back, and pretty much keeping up with the group. The Maglebys will be gone right after school ends until June 30. This is inconvenient as far as biking practices, but it is when we are going to see Ben and Heather.

PLEASE practice during those weeks. Don't be discouraged if you don't think you can ride 70 miles right now!

"That which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do;
not that the nature of the thing itself is changed,
but that our power to do is increased."

So, work on increasing your power to do!!!

Here is a basic list of practice rides

Until school is out, there will be practice rides most every day: Monday Thursday Friday Saturday (afternoons on schools days)

Saturday, May 8 – afternoon (temple trip in morning)

Monday, May 31 – a long ride for anyone in town

Maglebys will not be available: Saturday, May 15 and June 18 – 30 (Please practice on your own)

July: Saturday, July 3rd – Crown Point – leave 8:30 am? Youth Conference is July 7, 8, and 9

Last week of practice – Monday – Wednesday July 12 -14

Spaghetti Dinner Wednesday July 14

I'm so excited and remember YOU CAN DO IT!!!

2009 Photos

I recently got more storage space in order to store all the Cycling Psychos pictures from last year. Now all 802 pictures from the 2009 ride are online. Just click "All 2009 Pictures" on the left side of the screen or "2009 Photos" above to take a look at them. They aren't entirely in order but I hope they are easy enough to look through. Enjoy!

July 16th

The new date for the 11th Annual Bike Ride to the Beach is now July 16th & 17th. I don't think it'll change again so mark it on your calendars. It might be a good idea to start training for it as soon as possible. These bike trips seem to creep up on us and before you know it it'll be upon us. So start getting into a routine and you won't get scared when July rolls around. I'll try to keep you up to date with any news that comes to me.

The Editor,
Drew Magleby

P.S. I would also like to ask for some insight about what people think the t-shirts should be this year. I'm open to just about anything. I'm thinking white with black letters.

We Need a New Date for the Bike Trip!

Because of the change of Girls Camp to July 26 - 31, the bike trip will need to be moved. It can either be July 16 & 17 or August 13 & 14. Please let Colleen Magleby know which would work better for everyone!

11th Annual Bike to the Beach Ride

The official date for the bike ride is now July 30th. I will post more details when they come in. So far all I know is that Mark Magleby has reserved 5 camping sites for everyone. Hopefully we can fill them up.

If you have any questions please contact Colleen Magleby or myself. The more questions the better the ride will be.

The Editor,
Drew Magleby

P.S. The Facebook site is also up to date. Please join the event so we can get a good estimate on how many people are planning on coming. You can either click "11th Annual Bike to the Beach Ride" above or the link below. Then set your RSVP on the side.

July 30/31 - Cycling Psychos Bike to the Beach Date

Colleen Magleby requests the input of those interested in participating in the Cycling Psychos' Bike to the Beach Trip this year. She wants to know what date would be best for everyone. July 30th and 31st seems to be the best fix so far since Girls camp will be August 1st - 7th, Scout Camp will be July 18th - 24th and Youth Conference will be July 8th - 10th. She wants to know if this will be a problem with anyone. Please let us know ASAP. Mark Magleby would like to reserve the camp sites as soon as possible.
